Macworld Conference and Expo

Parties?

Leave it to me to start a discussion on parties. I wanted to open a few topics on the boards tonight and this is my first. I'm curious if anyone will be attending any parties? Which events are the most popular? The Hess and MacGuys' party lists aren't updated for MWSF08 yet but there's plenty of events tagged Macworld on Upcoming.org.

Any that haven't been published yet?

I can't imagine a bigger party than the one the FCPUG Network is holding Jan 16 at the Mission Bay Conference Center. Tickets are on sale now and are only $10.00 per person. All people interested in Digital Video are welcome. There will be over 20 vendors outside the theatre doors (many will not be on the Macworld floor) as well as presentations by Apple, Adobe, Blackmagic Design, Sony and many more. A raffle with prizes valued at over $35,000 will wrap up the evening. Food and cash bars are available. Going to be a great show and it will sell out. SuperMeets always sell out. For more information visit the Los Angeles Final Cut Pro User Group (lafcpug) web site.

I wanted to go last year but it was scheduled at the same time as another event. Looks to be the same problem this year too. I wish you the best of luck. Do you have photos from last year's event?

For some odd reason we never uploaded the over 500 pictures and 4 hours of video we took of last years SuperMeet. Got to slap someone for that. However, we do have lots of picts of 2006's SuperMeet at the Mezzanine and it shows you exactly why we had to move out of the Mezzanine for this years SuperMeet into the much larger Mission Bay Conference Center. It was CROWDED.

Looks great! A cab ride will certainly be required for the ride. I might stop by.

http://fcpugsupermeet.eventbrite.com/ that's where you get tickets (for anyone that doesn't want to click around)

Looks awesome. you should put the event on upcoming.org and tag it macworld so others can find it.

Actually it is convenient to Caltrain and Bart with shuttles to front door from Bart every 15 minutes. (Shuttles stop after 8PM though) From Caltrain its a short walk. Or, a good 25 minute walk from Moscone, weather permitting. Also a huge parking garage on the Mission Bay Conference Center site.

Thanks for the idea about upcoming.org.

Will there be a Netter's Dinner this year?

I just emailed Jon Pugh that organizes it each year and he said, "I'm still working on it, but I expect it to happen"

So it looks like we're still on for this year. Here's the site for anyone that doesn't know what Mike is speaking of http://www.seanet.com/~jonpugh/nettersdinner.html

The Hess Party list has 2008 events posted on it, although it is self-admittedly incomplete. By show time it will be the best place to check.

I found the Hess list which has been around for years (http://www.ilenesmachine.com/partylist.shtml) - I was hoping for more war story parties - regardless - I hope to crash a few, and find a blues joint that is open late.
