This Macworld was unique, like all others. Leopard was so new, it really forced everyone to evaluate it and learn it in a shorter time span.
I do need to thank everyone involved with putting Macworld together, and wrangling speakers: Paul Kent, Schoun Regan and Kathy Moran, to name a few. They took a herculean task and made it look easy. Speakers at Macworld also get treated very well, which I'm thankful for and happy about.
People have been asking for my session slides, but apparently, everyt… Continue

well I had a great time! Meeting new people getting answers to my questions and the one user conference I was looking forward to the most was the Automator conf. Ben was great. I got to chill with some great podcasters,(no name dropping here) The conferences took up most of my days "bu-huh ... Oooh, those winter-her... Ni-hiiiiiights" I did have time for Andy Ihnatkos game show and I got to play because I had a Newton! Took some pics with the Quicktake 200. I'll be posting on Flickr soon-ish. I… Continue

Yesterday was jammed packed from the moments I got to the Moscone Center. It was great to see so many Mac fans enjoying the moment. As soon as the MacBook Air was announced - I trotted over to the Apple booth so that I could get my hands on one - and feel beauty...and I did.
Another very fun product that I am now a proud owner of the Ladybug iPod docking station from VestaLife. It is beautiful, fun, portable and is "soft" to the touch. The Ladybug will be available this coming Spring at… Continue

I'm sad to be leaving San Francisco, as I've really enjoyed staying here.
Overall, I'd have to say this is one of the best trips I've taken in a long time.
Even though it was a work trip, I really enjoyed being here and being exposed to all the awesome stuff I've seen.
Some of you who know me are up for some very nice swag - let's just say that I often manage to swoon people into giving me awesome stuff...

So the past two days have been soooo ridiculously filled for me. Yesterday, I was up early to attend a breakfast with our local Apple rep, followed by a breakfast for all of Apple's resellers (yes, two breakfasts in one day!)
The second breakfast was followed, of course, by Steve Job's keynote, which was an awesome experience. I have to admit, some of the announcements were less than exciting for me, as a person who really has no interest in TV, but that new laptop is absolutely beautiful! I've… Continue

Wow - what can I say...Macworld Conference and Expo 2008 is shaping up to all the hype that we have been hearing for the past month. I have the pleasure of meeting with Microsoft to get a personal preview of Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac. To say that I was impressed with the application would not do it justice. I was overwhelmed with the ease of use, interface revamp, Elements Gallery, templates and all the other great new features. In addition, Microsoft's web site for Mac Users, Mactopia.com,… Continue

So I get off my flight from Orange County to San Francisco and I go down to the baggage claim and its dead. It was a small jet that we flew on, but I got to the airport VERY early - so I anticipated there would be no problems with my bags. When I got to SFO, AA informed me that they lost my 2nd piece of luggage (yes..I brought two) and that it would probably be on the next flight.
AA said they would have it delivered to my hotel as soon as it lands. They said it may land at SJC (San Jose)… Continue

Well...I couldn't get a flight until Monday afternoon. I'm all packed, just took my Airborne and need to bring the luggage to the car. I did some last minute errands this morning..but it got the best of me and I'l have to pick a few items at the Walgreens around the corner from the hotel.
I land on the ground in SFO at 1605 and then onto a Super Shuttle to the hotel. I'll check in then walk on down to pick up my badge. I also want to get some dinner in tonite. I'm hoping to meet up wit…
they open at 8. Im going to get some west coast coffee and snack, then head on over to get the badge. I cant wait to have it in my hand. Then it will really sink in that, "YES I am going to MACWORLD!"
I got just an hour of sleep last night. I was updating the network at home, setting up a Casper server, etc. I wanted/needed to that before cut my laptop over to Leopard. There is such a tremendous amount of anticipation this year as Apple's fortunes continue to rise and its star shine in the tech universe. In other words "Something's In The Air" and I wonder what it could be. There is some talk of WiMax being included the rumored sub-portable. 4G wireless on your laptop, nifty indeed. Well there will be some interesting announcements Tuesday morning to say the least.

I'm stuck at the Jacksonville FL airport! our flight was delayed by 2.5 hours. I won't be arriving in sf until 3:30PM. I was scheduled to be there at 10AM.
This is unfortunate because my 4th annual city tour of SF starts at 2PM. I've been frantically trying to get the word out that we've moved the event to 5PM but I'm sure there will be at least 15 people that show up at 2PM. It's a lesson learned that I need all RSVPs contact info so I can get the word out if things are delayed.

It's always fun to get a little nostalgic a few days before Macworld. I came across some old binders of mine. In them are old price lists with items such items as the Apple IIgs, Macintosh 512k, Imagewriter LQ and brochure fold-outs for MacPaint. I used to sell Apple Computers way back when. It was a small chain in Southern California called Wabash Computers. I was the Assistant Store Manager at our Costa Mesa location across the street from South Coast Plaza and later the El To…
So it's 2:30 am, and I'm at the airport... I didn't have much choice, needing to rely on the subway to throw me across town, to avoid a $100 cab ride, so here I am at Toronto-Pearson International Airport way earlier than I need to be.
(And by way earlier, I mean to say that I'm one of 5 people here, and the only one who isn't snoring)
I can't believe how much they charge for WiFi at airports... I guess I'll never tell a customer mistakenly again that free WiFi is everywhere,…
August, 2008 will be the 15th anniversary of the introduction of the Newton MessagePad. Unfortunately, the MessagePad ended up being an overpriced and misunderstood device, but there are still a lot of us who have these wonderful PDAs.
Lesa and I got into town on Thursday evening and we've already had 3 meetings, she's given a seminar, I had lunch with an Apple employee and have been to the Moscone to take pictures.....And it's only Friday!

So, my prediction is the scientists at the Apple Labs have created a new virus, that when released into the air we all breath, will make our bodies deform and start to grow little white buds in our ears with a small multi-touch pad on our wrists, so we no longer need to buy an iPhone or iPod as they are now part of our bodies. Built in iPod/iPhone for everyone! We only have to pay Apple $99 a year for unlimited media.
So, are you planning on going to the Keynote? Are you one of the crazy ones that waits in line at 3AM? If you are, have you loaded your iPod with some good tunes and movies? Both my iPhone and iPod Nano have my special Macworld 2008 Playlist all ready to go and each has some movies loaded on them. Waiting in line at first is fun but after awhile, when the jabbering wears down, you need something to occupy your waiting. The iPod, with my geeky movies and music, will come in handy.
So, I am going through my Powerbook case to clean things out from last macworld and what do I stumble upon, a 1 year old Snicker Bar Extreme that I forgot to eat. Darn it! hehehe. It is amazing how much stuff we consume and pack during our stay at Macworld and then we get home, all wiped out, and never empty out all the stuff we collect.
So, should I eat the Snicker Bar now? 8-)
Seems a little hard.

I have been attending the Macworld Conference and Expo on and off since 1989 (yes I feel old). My first Macworld I got to work "behind-the-scenes" when I worked for a company called Orange Micro. The other product we made was a co-processor card that allowed you to run MS-DOS and Windows on a Mac. Ever since then, I have been hooked. Any chance I could get I would try to m…

It sounds to me like nearly 1,000 people will have joined the Macworld Conference & Expo Community by the start of MW2008... but with an estimated attendance of nearly 50,000, how will we recognize each other (if we want to be recognized)? Are there special logos, secret decoder rings, or armbands? I do not think the iPhone is capable of proximity-alerts. Once we do meet, is there a special secret handshake or exchange of business cards or personal swag?...

So far it looks like Macworld week should be decent weather. 50s during the day and 40s at night. Last years SteveNote was rather cold and chilly waiting inline at 3AM. Still will be chilly but hopefully no rain to spoil the fun in the lines.
