When I get to Macworld the first thing I’m going to do is…
Since I'm launching an invention/product I made in my garage while being a stay-at-home dad I'll probably... kiss the ground, then maybe cry a few tears of joy (as long as the 100 prototype samples are finished like they're supposed to be), then I'm going to jump up and down a bunch of times and then pray other people will think iLidz™ is as cool of an idea and iPhone/iTouch accessory as I do! It's so low tech it high tech!™ The most Mac-Gyvered product ever!
At Macworld 2010 you will most likely find me…
I'll be at Ecamm Network's booth #4629. Ecamm is a partnership between two brothers, Glen and Ken Aspeslagh, they've made lots of cool software for Mac, like iGlasses for iChat and innovative products/gadgets like the Huckleberry for MacBook Pro. These guys have supported me and believed in the project from the start which has helped move it forward. So, BIG thanks to them! MacWorld Expo's PR firm, Schwartz Communications, has also chosen the iLidz™ Personal Media Viewer to be part of their pre-show PR activities and on-site product preview. I don't know exactly what that means but I hope it means you'll find me everywhere!!! www.i-lidz.com!! My personal motto: Think different and then Just Do it and then don't forget...if you build it they will (hopefully) come!

Blogging 101: Learning the dos and don'ts! OOOPs.

It's my first time to Macworld and my blogging late last night was my first time ever blogging. It's been pointed out that leaving comments directly to people is NOT the way to tell the story or get the word out. My over exuberance has run amuck before, so, BIG APOLOGIES, please forgive me. So, for the 115 people I posted an inappropriate comment for, please ignore it and moving on: lesson learned! Looking back, common sense should have overpowered by desire to reach as many people as possible.… Continue

iLidz™ a low-tech iPhone/iTouch holder and personal media viewer(PMV) with a high-tech experience! Think Different and Then Just Do IT!

Dear Fellow Mac Enthusiasts,

I’ve shown this device to my whole family, my father-in-law’s immediate reaction was,”Did you see Steve Martin in ‘The Jerk?” Well, all I can say is, “I was born a poor wack(ed) child!”
The idea was to build a comfortable way to view movies and other longer media content on my iPhone without having to hold the device yet getting a… Continue

Looks impractical from your photo. The weight of the iPhone or iTouch would pull the hat uncomfortably forward, or the hat itself would have to be tightened sufficiently to hold it in place, causing headaches or other discomfort.

Also, the idea may be good, but if the product makes its users look like dweebs in public, then the resulting market will be pretty limited.

Good luck with your efforts.

Thanks for your apology. I appreciate it. I have a book recommendation that might help you with marketing. I haven't read it myself but I've heard it recommended to people starting up small businesses on a shoestring.

Guerilla Marketing by Jay Levinson.

I truly had no idea the do's and don'ts of blogging. Oh well, it won't be the first time my exuberance has run a muck!

I will not give your product a rating since I have neither an iPhone nor an iPod Touch.

I will, however, give your spam campaign 0 points for bad manners.

"I plan on touching base with every person who has signed up."

Wait...what? So you're going to continue spamming people? Great...

"I'm not some big company with a huge budget, or team of people, or a big corporation."

So that gives you license to spam everyone on this site? Interesting defense.

"I was hoping the Mac community could offer me some support or feedback."

"Stop spamming people" *is* my feedback. But if you'd like some more - I think the "iLidz" is one of the dumbest ideas I've ever seen.

Happy now?

"Like I said I'm not for everybody and neither is iLidz™"

Agreed - but your "not for everybody" doesn't extend the other way, does it? You're going to spam everybody with these postings even though you admit yourself it's like having telemarketers calling you. Unbelievable.

Pissing people off is not exactly the way to succeeed.

Well, thanks Jical Jial for your response. He's new to Mac and although I'm not new to Mac I am new to blogging. Is there a Blogging Bible I should read first? Big apologies to Shawn King and others whom I've might of offended. Yes, I emailed the first 115 members with the same question in regards to taking a look at the iLidz™. I'll stop, but to me, a newbie blogger, I feel that if this isn't the place for a post such as mine then what's the blog and community for?
Have mercy on me. I'm not some big company, with a big team of people or big budget. It's just me with everything riding on an idea so I'm trying to do all I can along the way. I apologize to the MacWorld Expo community!
