At 11:58am on January 2, 2008, Marnix A. van Ammers said…: Cool. Indeed, me and my wife are doting Sheltie lovers. It all started with one Sheltie, "Kermit", that I bought in 1990. When that one became very old, we bought a new Sheltie pup "Java" (seen in my picture). Then a year later (after our original Sheltie had died), we bought another one, "Linus". The dogs and two cats we have are now our "kids" :-).

I never had a Mac until my brother Ronald, a long time Mac zealot, gave me a Mac Mini as a present 2 years ago. Previous to that I had little experience with Macs. I have been using Unix since '76, and PCs since the late 80s, with a sprinkling of Amiga and CPM here and there in between. Unfortunately my first Mac Mini didn't have wireless or bluetooth, making it a bit inconvenient to use. But I found it would run Linux just fine, so it became mostly a Linux box. Then I bought an iPhone a few months ago. I was so happy with the iPhone that it inspired me to give the Mac world another look. I decided to buy a new Mini with everything, wireless, bluetooth, wireless mouse and keyboard, 2Ghz CPU. I upgraded the box to make have 2Gb of memory and a 200Gb 7200RPM Hitachi disk drive. Now it's my main iTunes box and I'm slowly beginning to use iPhoto and hope to maybe work up to iMovie, iDVD, and iWeb. The older Mini is now running OS X most of the time (though still Tiger). I will probably upgrade that Tiger to Leopard later this month.

I hope to see and learn more about the Mac world at the conference. --- Marnix

Yes, we are both park rangers from Alaska. Earlier I thought I saw you were from Utrecht. We visited the Netherlands a couple of years ago for a couple weeks and found our selves lost on the streets of Utrecht for an hour or so. We eventually found our way to Breda. We had a wonderful time in the Netherlands including finding a great Mac store in Amsterdam. We will be at Macworld for the whole week.
