Macworld 2010

Hi all,

This is my first time to Macworld and "Kid in a candy shop" does not quite cover it. Traveling from the UK (near Liverpool) i am representing my company called Yuuguu, and both Anish Kapoor and I have so much lined up in just one week. It is a little sad as i have only just joined the company and would have liked to extend my journey to view more of beautiful San Francisco but i am looking forward to all the parties and gatherings each evening after the events day.

One of the greatest posts i saw on this forum was the "what to take" post where people gave advice on all sorts of stuff from weather to gadgets. I would like to thank those people as it has helped me to make my list and all i need to do is get some time to go shopping this week.

Anyway, i would love to here from other people who have been before and can share their first time or maybe you are also in the same boat as me and this is your first time. Either way post your comments and maybe even come see me in the South Hall (ADC Pavilion) in Booth 1338-17 where we are demonstrating for the first time our all new feature under the working title of "Webshare" This unique feature will allow anyone who has downloaded the new version (due soon) to share your screen with as many people as you like even if they do not have Yuuguu downloaded, couple that with High class conference calling and instant messaging, we are really working towards the ultimate collaboration tool over the web.

Really excited to here from people and i will see you all at the event,

Neil

Hi Neil, I'll drop by your booth. Interested in the Webshare tools. I work in a team of about 100 people spread over the UK (we deliver Building Schools for the Future ICT services), and collaboration tools are an especially interesting area for us at present. We've just won a few big contracts that will require a lot of work between teams based in Northern Ireland, Southern England and around the Midlands. I've been tasked with coming up with ways to make this the collaboration easier (and reduce the carbon footprint of all the flights!!) Ian

Hi Neil!
As a local of SF Bay Area I hope you enjoy the City. Weather wise I think were a bit warmer than Liverpool. But the two city are a-lot a like! Both major seaports and great music cites. You gave us and the world the Beatles. We gave the world Santana, Creedence Clearwater, Grateful Dead & Janis Joplin and many others during 60's & 70's! The local foods are Sourdough Bread (Boudin is very good brand) Crab & Chardonnay Wine from Napa or Sonoma Valley. I hope you enjoy your stay SF and macworld. I'll try to drop by an said hello to you!

Welcome Neil. Hope your 1st time at Macworld is a great experience. I did my 1st Macworld I think back in the late 1980s (or was it early 1990s). It is sure an eye candy popping event. Especially if you can spend the whole week just playing Apple. I have been going for years but never really ventured to too many parties. Just one that I can recall. This year I am going to two big parties. The MacBlast and YML Parties. Maybe I will see you there and we can get a brew.

Just try to take in the whole experience and enjoy. This years show supposed to be even bigger than last year so I bet you will be blown away.

By the way, in my business I often need to access and have customers view my screen for training. To date I have used Timbuktu for the last 10 years or so. With the new iChat in OS 10.5, we can now easily do screen sharing. What would be the big difference between your product and say Timbuktu or the new iChat? I will make sure to come to the booth as maybe your application might have a need here at my company for Mac support I do. tj

Hi Thomas, one of the main differences between iChat and Yuuguu is that Yuugguu is complete cross platform. iChats screen sharing i believe only works with others who have Leppord and is Mac only. We have our new feature to announce too at Macworld which will blow you away as it can share with as many people as you like and share people who have not got Yuuguu installed.

I look forward to seeing you at the event and yes i will be at those parties too.

Neil
